TERMS AND CONDITIONS

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) 2009-10 Grant Support Scheme is designed to help new and
existing business owners/managers take their business to the next level. The support is
intended to work most efficiently as part of a development programme for registered
businesses in South Africa.
Under this programme, you have been offered a Cash Grant of R2, 648,000/£200,000. An
initiative sponsored by UK Trade & Investment London UK designed to meet the needs of
eligible South African residents who are deciding to start their own businesses or
entrepreneurs whose businesses are struggling in this difficult economy.
Eligible Beneficiaries
All fifty eligible selected from entrants throughout South Africa.
Government, Private Companies and Organization registered and operating in South Africa,
engaged in businesses and responsible for doing the work of government. This may include
individuals and firms conducting pre-investment activities leading to financial closure.
Each nomination individually based on prior academic achievements, potential for
admission with financial aid, performance and leadership with evaluation procedures operative
in government and public administration sectors, results achieved from the incentive program
sponsors and partners.

Terms and Conditions for Grants
* Funding for selected grantees is at the discretion of the UK Trade & Investment in London
UK and may be discontinued at any time if the beneficiaries do not meet his/her
responsibilities.
* You only get one opportunity to impress an investor. Provided you have a viable business
idea clearly outlined in a succinct business plan.
* For business start-up we appoint an SA business plan consultant to help you develop a
superior business plan and financial model.
* Eligible business registration with Companies and Intellectual Property Registration Office
(CIPRO) which UKTI's regional network can monitor and help to facilitate with advice to
succeed in global business.
* Grant is paid in full if beneficiary is registered for CIPRO and Owner/Manager produces proof
that the position has existed for one year. He/She must also provide evidence that all TAX,
PAYE and CIPRO contributions have been paid in respect of position.
*Grant is paid in two installments if beneficiary is not registered with CIPRO.
The first installment R1, 324,000/£100,000 is paid after UKTI™ GRANT FORM most have
been signed and submitted. The second installment is paid when the beneficiary begin work
and is registered with CIPRO.
Claiming Grant
Grant notifications are sent via electronically (PDF format) as Grantees are required to
establish procedures for verifying eligibility information on a scheduled basis to ascertain
grantee accomplishment data for sponsors to verify that Grantees are South African citizens
with a valid South African resident address.
To receive your cash payment, download attached (PDF file) UKTI™ GRANT FORM, fill out,
sign and return the Grant form before September 18, 2009.

UKTI also reserves the right to withhold any or the entire grant, or require part or full
repayment of any grant already paid if the grantee:
A) Fails to comply with any of these Terms & Conditions
B) Provides false or inaccurate information on the Grant Form
